Here are some of the opportunities coming up!

Lenten Soup Supper

When: Friday, March 20

​Time: 5:00pm - 7:30pm

Where: St. Charles Borromeo Holy Cross Room

​Who/Contact: Mary Kravchuk at 630-766-8822 or reoffice@stcbparish.org

What:  You will earn five hours doing the following; shop for and prepare a homemade meatless soup 

at home (with a parent) and come in to set-up and serve it at our Lent Soup Supper. Attend Stations of the Cross after cleaning up.

Bridgeway Tech Help

When: Saturday, March 14 

​Time: 1:00pm - 2:00pm

Where: Bridgeway Senior Living, 303 E Washington St, Bensenville (a 3-story building located on the far side of the property east of the rehabilitation home)

What:   Assist residents at Bridgeway with questions about how to use the various features on their electronic devices.

Bridgeway is not allowing any visitors in their facility. Therefore March 14th has been cancelled.

HOPE HOUSE in Villa Park

Hope House is looking for volunteers to help cook and serve dinner or breakfast for up to 19 residents at their shelter in Villa Park.

When: Various days and times are listed on their website.

Where: Hope House in Villa Park, IL

What:   (The information below is taken from their website)

All of the ingredients plus a recipe are provided for volunteer's to prepare a meal.  The address of Hope House is undisclosed, please contact Joy Newburn 630-519-6547 or jnewburn@cc-doj.org.

  • 2-3 volunteers is ideal to make a meal. We can’t accommodate groups over 5 people (if more than three people are there, the others can play with children or clean out the freezer or organize the child area). Our kitchen is very small.

  • Volunteers do not need to clean up the meal. The clients do that.

  • Hope House is a 19-bed facility. We serve individuals and families.

  • Please do not share the location of Hope House as we wish to keep this a secure facility.

  • Children 8 and older can volunteer if accompanied by an adult 18 years or older

  • Yes you can prepare food and bring it in if you follow and USDA approved menu (which you can find online)   https://www.fns.usda.gov/usda-standardized-recipe

  • We never know how many people will attend the meal. We prepare food for 19

  • You can take pictures of yourself but may not take pictures of clients

  • Please wear modest clothing and closed toed shoes.

  • Please park on the street. You will get towed if you park in the back or in the driveway

  • You do not have to wear hairnets. We will provide gloves. Aprons are not required, but if you wish to wear them you will need to bring your own.

  • If only 1 volunteer shows up than staff can help with the meal

  • We would be happy to provide you with a list of items that we need to be donated to Hope House

Baking Cookies for Confirmation reception

What: We need volunteers to bake 4 dozen cookies each. We would like them to be homemade. No store bought cookies. You may make any kind of cookie you would like.  NO peanut butter or nuts. Please let us know if you are making a gluten free cookie.

Drop off: Thursday, April 23 or Friday, April 24 in the school office between 8am and 4pm. 

Please cover and label cookies for Confirmation.

2nd Grade Retreat Help

Whole Family Night Set Up

When: April 29

Time: 5:00pm

What:   Arrive early on RE nights to help set up the gym for our Whole Family sessions.
